The President of the Zamfara Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, (ZACCIMA)m Dr. Hassan Buhari, has commended President Bola Tinubu for lifting the ban on mining activities in the state.
Buhari made the commendation while speaking to journalists in Gusau on Tuesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, while on official visit to the state recently announced that the Federal Government has lifted the ban on mining activities in the state.
According to the minister, since the banning of mining activities during the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari due to the issue of insecurity, the state had lost a lot in the area of solid minerals.
The state ZACCIMA chairman described the Federal Government’s decision as a welcome development.
Buhari said, “Zamfara is a hub of mineral resources, so the government’s decision will attract more investors into the state and equally attract more development.
“This will definitely bring investors and boost the socio-economic development of our dear state.
“On behalf of the State Chamber of Commerce, we thank Mr President Bola Tinubu for lifting the ban on the mining activities in the state.
“We welcome this development, we are going to comply with all the government’s rules and guidelines for mining activities.”
According to him, the lifting of the ban on the mining sector would help in attracting investors to Zamfara from within and outside the country.
He further said that the action would create more job opportunities and boost the socio-economic development in the state.(NAN)
