Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared Two weeks holiday for all Civil Servants in the State to enable them celebrate Christmas and New year with their loved ones and as well harvest their crops.
Governor Hyacinth Alia who announced this on Tuesday, during a press briefing at Government House Makurdi said the holiday commenced on Tuesday December 24 and ends on January 6th, 2025.
He explained that the essence of the long holiday is to support workers’ well-being and allow them to enjoy the season with their loved ones and as well harvest their crops and rest for the time being.
“I urge you all to seize the opportunity of this long holiday to attend to your agricultural pursuit by harvesting all your crops so that there will be abundance of food for the family at the end of the holidays
The Governor however informed that all those on essential services like Medical personnel, bankers, energy providers, security agencies are not covered by this long holiday, except they make in house arrangements.
Governor Alia advised Benue people to continue to imbibe the spirit of unity love and peace while remaining steadfast in the collective efforts to develop the Benue of our dream.
