Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has declared that he will spearhead President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027, directly challenging critics questioning his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike while speaking during a media chat in Abuja, dismissed repeated inquiries about his role in the upcoming election cycle, asserting his leadership was already established.
“I have told you this before, is it because I am in Asiwaju’s presidency? Are you not aware I will lead his campaign in Rivers State? You want me to say no?” he said.
The minister further predicted a dramatic reversal of Tinubu’s 2023 performance in the capital, where the president secured less than 10 percent of votes
“Are you not aware that he did not get up to 10 per cent here, FCT? But he will win here. Are you not aware?
“Stop asking me questions you know. Of course, you know. Is that hidden?”
He anchored his support for Tinubu to a broader regional agenda, saying, “because I have said the South must produce the president.”
