The National Chairman, Horse Racing Federation of Nigeria, Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata, says Nigeria will soon be the world’s hub of the horse racing tournament.
According to him, the federation is committed to making horse racing a global event in Nigeria, West Africa and the world at large.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that he spoke in Bida at the closing of the International Hope-Renewed Horse Racing Tournament.
NAN also reports that Alhaji Dantata has been a key player in the horse racing events for over 45 years and his assumption as the chairman of the federation of Nigeria has greatly bolstered the sports.
He explained that the federation was planning a ‘grade-one’ horse racing tournament in Nigeria.
Dantata said: “Such tournaments attract participants from across the world.
“This is with the same level of prestige as the Royal Ascot, Preakness Stakes, Dubai World Cup, Saudi Cup and the Kentucky Derby.”
He said that the federation was founded in 2019 with the aim of creating a national platform to organise, host and regulate horse racing activities across the country.
According to him, the federation is dedicated to promoting national unity and prosperity by bringing participants from various regions through a shared passion for the equestrian activities.
He also expressed confidence that the federation would soon become a leading force in horse racing in Africa.(NAN)
