The past week has been filled with exciting events, controversies, and heartwarming moments in the entertainment industry.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigerian celebrities including Wizkid, Davido and Omotola made headlines and sparked conversations on social media.

Wizkid, whose real name is Balogun Ayodeji, released his highly anticipated album, “Morayo”, on Nov. 22.

The album received mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. While some praised the album as an “awesome project,” others expressed disappointment, comparing it to Davido’s works.

Neutral fans also shared their thoughts, stating that the album may grow on them over time.

Davido also recently appeared on a podcast where he shared his thoughts on the current state of Nigeria’s economy.

His comments sparked a heated debate on social media, with some fans applauding him for speaking the truth and others criticising him for “embarrassing” the country.

Davido later took to social media to defend his comments, stating that he was only trying to bring attention to the issues affecting Nigerians.

On Nov. 29, Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, shared a video of herself recovering from a surgery, after a life threatening illness.

Fans and colleagues have been sending her heartfelt messages and prayers, wishing her a speedy recovery.

Omotola’s husband, Matthew Ekeinde, also took to social media to thank fans for their support and well wishes.

The past week marked the end of November, and with it came the highly anticipated Black Friday sales. Both sellers and buyers took advantage of the discounts and promotions offered by various companies.

Online retailers like Jumia and new entrant Temu.com were particularly active, offering massive discounts on their products.

Temu.com, in particular, went all out with sponsored ads on social media platforms, generating a lot of buzz and reactions from users.

Popular X critic, Daniel Regha, had this to say, “Please, Black Friday sales is not an opportunity to restock your shops.

“Buy only what you need and you will use for the time being, so other people can see what to buy when they arrive too.

“How can people just clear the noodles section like that? Cheap drinks section also empty. Some people can’t even push their cart anymore because it’s over full.

“Like why? This is greed,” he said.

Also, a new trend emerged on social media in the past week. “We Listen, But We Do Not Judge” challenge took center stage.

The challenge, which encourages people to share their deepest secrets without fear of judgment, quickly went viral.

Celebrities, influencers, and other individuals alike jumped on the trend, sharing their own stories and experiences.

The challenge sparked a lot of conversation and engagement on social media, with many people praising the trend for promoting openness and honesty.

Meanwhile, Lagos residents experienced a first feel of harmattan as they took to social media to express their excitement.

The Twitter trend, now known as X trend, was filled with tweets from residents sharing their experiences and feelings about the new weather.

Many expressed their relief at the cooler temperatures, which have been a welcome respite from the heat.

Others compared the harmattan to winter seasons in other countries, joking that Lagos has its own version of winter.

The arrival of harmattan has also got people excited for the festive period, with many seeing it as a sign that Christmas is just around the corner. (NAN)
