The trial of three men accused of the failed extortion of the family of ex-Formula One racing driver Michael Schumacher is set to end with a verdict on Wednesday.
Two of the defendants, a father and his son have already confessed at the Wuppertal district court in western Germany.
The third, a former security employee of the Schumachers, has remained silent.
He was accused of passing on the material to the main defendant and his son.
Michael Schumacher, a joint-record of seven-times, F1 world champion, has been shielded from the public eye by his family since a skiing accident in 2013 in which the German suffered a serious head injury.
The Schumacher family was blackmailed with the threat of the publication of private photographs and videos if they did not pay 15 million euros (15.5 million dollars).
According to the public prosecutor’s office, 900 pictures and almost 600 videos of the family as well as Schumacher’s digitised medical records were seized. (dpa/NAN)
