The United States Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv sustained minor structural damage following an Iranian missile strike near the area, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, confirmed on Monday.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Huckabee stated: “Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in Tel Aviv, but no injuries to U.S. personnel.”
As a precautionary measure, both the U.S. Embassy branch in Tel Aviv and the main diplomatic mission in Jerusalem remained closed on Monday.
The Israeli authorities earlier reported that several Iranian missiles had struck targets across the country overnight. Residents in central Tel Aviv reported hearing multiple explosions, followed by the sound of ambulance sirens.
Tensions escalated dramatically after Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Friday targeting key Iranian infrastructure, including nuclear facilities, military command centres, and energy installations. Iran responded with a missile barrage directed at Israeli territory.
No fatalities have been reported in connection with the strike on the U.S. diplomatic site, and officials say damage assessments are ongoing.
