The Management of Jos Water Services Corporation (JWSC), has attributed the unavailability of potable water in Jos-Bukuru metropolis to the breakdown of its Yakubu Gwom treatment plant transformer.
The Managing Director (MD),of JWSC, Mr Apollos Samchi, said this on Sunday in a statement issued by Mr Nangor Ndam, the Corporation’s Public Relations Manager.
Samchi, said the Yakubu Gowon treatment plant, a major water treatment plant that supplied potable water to Jos-Bukuru Metropolis had not been pumping water since January 10, due to the breakdown of its transformer caused by an electrical surge.
He said the JWSC”s management and technical personnel were working proactively to ensure that the transformer was fixed to commence the supply of potable water to Jos- Bukuru metropolis.
The MD, revealed that the Laminga water treatment plant near British American junction and Nabor gwong treatment plants were functional .
He appealed to the customers and the general public to remain calm, while everything was done to fix the transformer.(NAN)
