Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive and balanced development as he inaugurated a key rural road project aimed at improving the livelihoods of local communities.
Speaking on Monday during the commissioning of the newly constructed road linking the A2 Junction on the Abuja–Lokoja Expressway to Pai community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Tinubu said the project symbolised his government’s efforts to bring governance closer to underserved populations.
“This road is one of many infrastructure projects being implemented nationwide. We will continue until every Nigerian feels the impact of effective governance,” Tinubu stated.
He emphasised that infrastructure should be a means to improve lives, not simply a measure of physical development. “This new corridor opens opportunities in agriculture, commerce, education, and mobility. It will strengthen our economy from the grassroots upward,” he added.
President Tinubu praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his team for prioritising rural development, stating, “You’re doing a good job for communities that have been long forgotten.” The 15-km A2–Pai road is one of 17 projects commissioned as part of activities marking the President’s second year in office.
