The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger, has commiserated with Gov. Umaru Bago and families of victims of the tanker explosion, which occurred at Dikko junction on Saturday.
A statement by Rev Bulus Yohanna, Chairman of CAN in the state expressed solidarity with the governor and the state government in this difficult time.
“We are deeply saddened by the devastating incident and stand in solidarity with the state government.
“The explosion is worrisome, heartbreaking, and unfortunate,” he said.
He specifically sympathised with the governor and the families of the victims, praying that God grant the dead eternal rest and heal those injured.
Yohanna also commended the government’s efforts in responding to the emergency and providing support to the affected families and those still hospitalised.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the tanker explosion claimed no fewer than 86 lives with many others injured.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning on the Dikko-Maje road in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger. (NAN)(
