The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has extended its warm felicitations to Nigerians on the celebration of the country’s 64th Independence anniversary.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Director-General, Mr Abubakar Umar, issued on Monday in Kaduna.
The foundation emphasised the importance of October 1st, describing it as a day of reflection on the remarkable journey Nigeria has taken since gaining independence.
Umar highlighted the sacrifices of key figures like Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Obafemi Awolowo, whose contributions laid the groundwork for the nation’s freedom.
The foundation called on Nigerian leaders to prioritise justice, fairness, and equity in governance, urging them to focus on improving economic conditions and addressing the challenges faced by citizens.
He also acknowledged the progress in enhancing security while emphasising the need for continued vigilance to maintain peace and stability.
“Let us embrace patience and hope for a brighter future as we work together towards a prosperous Nigeria,” Umar said .(NAN)
