King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has expressed deep condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the government and people of Nigeria following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques mourned the loss of the elder statesman and offered sympathy to Buhari’s family and all Nigerians.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also sent a message of condolence, expressing sadness over Buhari’s passing and praying for his soul to rest peacefully in Aljannat Firdaus.
Buhari, who was 82, died on Sunday in a London hospital after a prolonged illness. He is to be buried on Tuesday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
The Nigerian Federal Government declared Tuesday a public holiday and directed flags to be flown at half-mast nationwide in honour of the late former president.
