Saudi Arabia Government says the forthcoming Global Artificial Intelligent (AI) Summit (GAIN) in Riyadh aims to promote economic diversification of vision 2030.

Mohammed Alsahabi, the Press Attaché’, Saudi Arabia Embassy, Abuja, in a statement on Wednesday, said the summit would foster global collaboration to explore transformative potential of AI across industries.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that GAIN, with the theme: “Now, Next , Never, ” is dedicated to transforming conversations into tangible impact, enabling AI to build sustainable world for all.

AI leaders from around the world will be gathering for the third edition of the Global AI Summit GAIN from Sept. 10 to Sept. 12, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to Alsahabi, the Global AI Summit 2024, to be hosted by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), will be one of the most important gatherings in AI this year.

Alsahabi said the summit, which aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to diversify the economy, was designed to foster global collaboration and explore the transformative potential of AI across industries.

He said that the deliberations of over 300 speakers, including innovators, academics, executives, regulators and decision-makers from 100 countries worldwide, would be centered on the theme.

“The summit will discuss technology’s transformative impact on people and communities, the real world benefits of AI, the technology’s future trajectory and the ethical considerations necessary to ensure responsible AI developments.

“The summit will feature impressive lineup of global speakers such as  Cristiano Amon, President, Qualcomm Incorporated, Nick Studer, President, Oliver Wyman Group, Dr Marc Raibert, Chairperson, Boston Dynamics, among others,’’ he said.

Speaking further on the summit, SDAIA’s official spokesperson, Majed Al-Shehri, said that the summit would be a landmark event in shaping the future of AI.

“The theme ‘Now, Next, Never’ is especially pertinent as it challenges us to consider the immediate implications, future innovations and the ethical responsibilities that come with the rapid advancement of AI technologies.

“This is a technology that is hugely promising, but as we innovate, we also cannot afford to get it wrong; it is essential that AI integration is sustainable and for the betterment of society,” he said.

He said that the strong presence of global leaders, especially from the consulting industry, highlighted AI’s pivotal role in business transformation and global innovation. (NAN)
