Mr Gift Okere, Chairman, Oyigbo Local Government Area in Rivers has promised to partner local entertainment promoters ahead of the Yuletide celebrations.
Okere gave the assurances at the council’s headquarters in Oyigbo while receiving members of the ‘EARTHLIONAIR Games Festival’ planning committee who came to solicit sponsorship.
Receiving committee’s proposals, the chairman promised to provide valuable support to ensure that residents of the area enjoy the Christmas celebration.
He also commended them for a initiating a lofty entertainment idea while also adding that the initiative would foster peace and unity across communities in the area.
Mr Cossa Emmanuel, the group’s president explained that 2024 program when actualised would mark the second edition of the Oyigbo games festival.
”The festival will feature competitions in table tennis, cooking, hair design, barbing and other creative arts as well as a football match.
”The essence of the competition is to further unify the three zones of Oyigbo area council which include; Asa, Ndoki and Oyigbo Urban,” he said.
Emmanuel also said that rehearsals have been scheduled to hold simultaneously in selected communities beginning from the first week of December.(NAN)
