The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has commiserated with a former Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, over the death of his son, Faisal.
The forum Chairman, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, stated this in a statement issued by its Director-General, Dr Emmanuel Agbo, on Monday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Faisal, the eldest son of the former governor, died in a car accident on Kaduna-Zaria highway on Saturday evening.
Mohammed also condoled with the Makarfi family, friends and the people of Kaduna State over the irreparable loss.
He said that the party joined Makarfi, a former Chairman of PDP National Caretaker Committee and incumbent Secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT), at this moment of grief.
The governor noted that though Faisal had gone too soon, he lived and passionately utilised the opportunities that each day presented, taking nothing for granted.
He prayed God to grant the Makarfi family the fortitude to bear the loss and to rest the soul of the departed.
NAN reports that Faisal, a civil engineer by training, attended Kaduna International School and later proceeded to Adesoye College, Offa, Kwara for his secondary education.
He attended University of Greenwich, London, for undergraduate and Master degree and thereafter enrolled for his doctoral programme at the same institution. (NAN)
