A Chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Mr Edward Masha, has inaugurated his campaign team ahead of the election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Masha inaugurated the team on Tuesday in Kaduna.
According to him, the PDP under his leadership would re-strategise, reconcile aggrieved members and unite the party to ensure that it takes back power in the state in 2027.
He said the campaign would be focused on fostering a renewed sense of purpose among party members.
Masha said, “Kaduna State PDP needs a leader who understands the pulse of the people, and I am that leader.
”I have the experience, the commitment, and the vision to take our party to greater heights.”
He pointed out that, in the past, divisions and lack of cohesion within the party had limited its full potential in delivering effective opposition and ultimately winning elections.
The aspirant said that the campaign aimed to energise the base, promote youth participation and ensure gender-inclusivity, giving the party more representation of the diverse population of the state.
Masha said, “We won’t restrict women to just women leadership slots. We’ll create a platform for them to operate and occupy.”
He said that the campaign team’s members were mainly volunteers and well wishers who believe in the course of a new PDP.
Earlier, Danjuma Akuso, former Kaduna State ALGON Chairman and a candidate contesting for the Chairmanship of PDP respectively, stepped down from the race, endorsing the candidacy of Edward Masha.
He said said,”Following the zoning of the Chairman’s seat to Jema’a Local Government Area in line with the zoning committee’s report, Masha stands out with requisite experience and capacity for the job.
” Masha has held various leadership positions and has been involved in grassroots mobilization efforts, which have earned him a reputation as a dedicated and approachable leader.”
Also speaking, Yohanna Allahmagani, Director, campaign structure, said most people in the state were in support of Masha’s candidacy owing to his agenda of reunification and inclusive politics for good governance.
