The Ondo State Public Complaints, Financial Crimes, and Anti-Corruption Commission (SPFACC) has initiated investigation into alleged diversion of its N800 million worth of shares in the Ondo State Oil Producing Development Area Commission (OSOPADEC).

Investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure on Monday revealed that those suspected of involvement in the alleged scam are currently being investigated by the commission.

The shares were reported to have been allegedly divided among the suspects, names withheld.

When contacted, the Secretary of SPFACC, Prof. Adewole Adeyeye, confirmed that the case was being investigated by the commission.

Also, the commission confirmed investigation into a case of an employer who allegedly refused to pay his over 200 workers their salaries for seven months.

The workers, all cleaners, were deployed to the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED), and each of them was to be paid N12,000 monthly, but received no emolument for seven months.

The secretary, who declined giving details on the allegations, said that the commission was investigating the matter and would ensure that justice was done.

Adeyeye said that he could not go into details of the two cases to ensure the sanctity of the commission.

Speaking to newsmen, Mrs Victoria Iyanuoluwapo, one of the workers, said that she was being owed seven months salary

Iyanuoluwapo explained that she was employed in 2020 but left the job in 2022 because of irregularities in the payment of her salaries.

Similarly, Mrs Olamide Alade, another worker, said that she left the job in 2025 and was owed six months salaries in arrears.

According to her, our employer insisted that he could not pay the salaries.

Alade stated that the affected workers approached the anti graft agency for justice, adding that they did not want to take law into their hands in getting their dues. (NAN)
