Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four individuals as Commissioner-Designates for the state, marking a significant step in the formation of his executive council.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the nominees are Ohimai Ehijimetor; Eugenia Abdallah; Hon. Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi and Prince Kassim Afegbua
The nominations have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Profiles of the Nominees
- Ohimai Ehijimetor, a civil engineering graduate from the University of Benin, brings over 14 years of experience in project management and business development. He is currently the Managing Director of Jackhammar Services Limited.
- Eugenia Abdallah comes with a solid background in the banking sector and over a decade of experience. She holds qualifications in Humanities and Administration and is described as a dynamic executive and effective team player.
- Hon. Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi is a seasoned politician and community leader with academic credentials in Government, Public Administration, and International Relations. He previously served as a Member of the Edo State House of Assembly and Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council.
- Prince Kassim Afegbua, a respected journalist and public affairs strategist, has held various influential roles in government, including Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Edo State and Special Adviser on Media to a former governor. He is a graduate of English and Literary Studies with further training in media and political communication.
In addition to the commissioner nominations, Governor Okpebholo has appointed Aigbogun Collins, immediate past Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council, as Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization, and Osobase Oboaguina as Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation, Edo Central.
These appointments reflect the governor’s continued effort to strengthen governance and foster inclusive youth engagement across the state.
