The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Adamawa, says it has recorded 215 civil and dispute cases in the state between January and September 2024.
The Corps said it has also resolved 189 of the cases.
ACC Charity Fwa, the Head of Peace and Conflict Unit, NSCDC, stated this on Tuesday in Yola at an event to commemorate the 2024 International Peace Day organised by a group, Search for Common Ground.
She said that 13 cases were pending, nine referred for investigations and four withdrawn after being resolved by the parties to the disputes.
She said the success recorded fostered peace in the state with support of the organisation.
“The nature of cases being handled are mainly civil which includes family matters, communal, land related disputes, land lords/tenants misunderstanding and farmers/herders conflicts among others”, she said.
Fwa further called for synergy and collaboration with other stakeholders on peace building in the state.
Mr Gambo Wada, the Project Manager, Search for Common Ground in Adamawa, commended stakeholders for their contributions towards ensuring peace in the state.
He urged residents of the state to sustain relative peace in their respective communities as the project would end in December.
According to him, the project is planning to setup situation room in all the local government areas to promote peace in the state. (NAN)
