The Nigerian government has announced the commencement of a national recruitment exercise for various paramilitary services, including the Civil Defence, Immigration, Correctional and Fire Services, inviting qualified applicants to apply online from Thursday.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, the application process will be open for three weeks via the official recruitment portal: https://recruitment.cdcfib.org.
Jubril emphasised that all applications are free of charge and cautioned applicants to apply to only one of the four paramilitary agencies. Submitting multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification, he warned.
Available positions span several ranks across the agencies, including Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant Cadres. For example, applicants for the Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 09) must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, a role exclusive to the Nigerian Correctional Service. Similarly, the Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09) post in the Federal Fire Service requires degrees in Law, or Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical.
Additional vacancies include Assistant Superintendent II for degree or HND holders, Inspector for registered nurses and midwives, and entry-level roles for candidates with Ordinary Level certificates. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged between 18 and 35, medically fit, and possess clean criminal records.
