The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Afam Osigwe (SAN) has set up a three-man caretaker committee, to regulate the affairs of the NBA Orlu branch for the next three months.
Osigwe set up the committee following a resolution by the branch’s Appeal Committee, seeking a dissolution of the NBA Orlu branch’s Electoral Committee.
This is contained in a sstatement by Osigwe himself and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
According to him, the committee is vested with the mandate to manage the affairs of the branch for the next three months.
He directed the committee to address outstanding issues, and conduct the branch’s elections, in accordance with the NBA uniform bye laws for branches.
The NBA President listed members of the committee to include Mr Chris Ikwuoma, Chairman, Mr Jude Oduoma, Alternate Chairman, and Mrs Ngozi Nwosu, Secretary.
He charged the committee to fix a date for the branch’s Annual General Meeting within the shortest possible time so members could elect the officials.
