The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has won the ‘Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year Award’ for outstanding operations in 2024.
The honour was conferred by Transport Day Media, as disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos by Mr Olutayo Ajakaye, NAHCO’s Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications.
Reacting to the award, NAHCO’s Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, Dr Sola Obabori, expressed delight over the recognition and appreciation for the company’s efforts.
Obabori said the company’s strong 2024 performance had positioned it for greater achievements and improved shareholder value in the current year.
He stated that NAHCO remained committed to sustainable transport by using technologies that enhance productivity, conserve fuel, and lower emissions through reduced handling time.
“This is a well-deserved recognition. Everyone in aviation acknowledges the significant role NAHCO plays in the sector,” Obabori added.
He said the award highlighted the team’s hard work and focus on embedding sustainability into daily operations across the company.
Obabori affirmed NAHCO’s dedication to world-class ground handling while reducing its environmental impact and promoting a greener aviation industry in Nigeria.
Also speaking, Transport Day Media Chairman, Mr Frank Kintum, praised NAHCO’s resilience, solid brand image, and contribution to Nigeria’s aviation community.
Kintum added that the award followed several others, including the ‘Champion of the Industry Award’ presented by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). (NAN)
