The Zamfara state Government, said it has uncovered twenty medical doctors under the verification committee working to ensure full implementation of seventy thousand (N70,000) naira minimum wage to civil servants in the state.
Addressing a Press Conference in Gusau on Wednesday, the State Head of Service and Chairman Workers Verification Committee Ahmed Liman, said on the process of verification exercise in across sectors, the committee discovered 20 Medical Doctors as Ghost Workers.
Liman, state the state government will make full implementation of seventy thousand naira minimum wage, after the verification exercise expected to finished by end of November.
The Head of Service further explained that, the committee apart from 20 Medical Doctors uncovered as Ghost Workers, also uncovered more from various ministries which will be announce at the end of the exercise.
He said the state is currently having 34,000 workforce with exception of local government employees, stressing that, the committee is making sure to present to the Governor the accurate and genuine number of workforce for implementation of minimum wage.
“I assured that at the end of the verification exercise, the government will after receiving the committee report, approve the full implementation of the new minimum wage”,.
“The verification committee headed by me including leaders of the two workers unions, Nigeria Labour Union (NLC) and Trade Union Congress(TUC), is working assiduously to make sure the exercise completed and to reached the targeted period of the report submission,”.
