A 30-year old man, Peter Ekeh was on Monday arraigned in an e Asaba magistrate court for alleged assault.
Ekeh was said to have allegedly assaulted Emeka Sunday by tightly gripping him on his neck and there by committing an offence.
The Prosecutor, Mrs Linda Peters told the court that the accused committed the offence on the Sept. 19, at the Asaba police headquarters.
She said that the offence was punishable under Section 351 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol.1 laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N500, 000 and one surety in like sum.
The magistrate, Mrs Edith Anumodu ordered that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction, and provide means of identification.
She ordered that the surety should provide two passport photographs and electricity bill.
Aumodu adjourned the case until Nov. 12, for definite hearing.(NAN)
