A civil society organisation, Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI), has said that the Edo off-cycle governorship election was peaceful besides delay in the arrival voting materials in some units.

This was contained in a statement by Comrade Chris Isiguzor, KDI’s Election Day Data Room Faculty member, on Sunday in Benin.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Chris Isiguzor is the current National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
KDI observed that logistical challenges were one of the key findings during the Sept. 21 Edo governorship election.
“These challenges included, delayed Deployment of INEC officials and materials and Weather-related transportation issues.
“Observations indicate that election officials arrived at polling stations between 8:30 am and 9:30,” he said.
He charged stakeholders to uphold the rule of law.
KDI is supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
