The Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Kano State Council, has congratulated the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, on his conferment with the prestigious Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).
The felicitation is contained in a statement issued by by the Chairman of the chapel, Aminu Garko, in Kano on Tuesday.
Jibrin is among the prominent Nigerians President Bola Tinubu awarded national honours during his Independence Day national broadcast. Others include Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Speaker, House of Reps, Tajudeen Abass.
“The Leadership of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kano Chapter, warmly congratulates Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, on his conferment with the prestigious Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) honour.
“This well-deserved recognition is a testament to Senator Jibrin’s exemplary leadership and contributions to the development of Nigeria.
“As a distinguished senator representing Kano North, you have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the welfare of not only your constituents, but the nation at large.
“We recognise that Senator Jibrin’s impressive political career spans over two decades, with notable achievements in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
“His expertise in accounting and financial management has been invaluable in shaping Nigeria’s budget processes,” Garko said.
The chapel commended Senator Jibrin’s dedication to public service and his role in promoting the interests of Kano State and Nigeria.
It said the honour not only reflected Jibril’s individual achievements but also brought pride to the people of Kano State.
