The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), has activated a new portal, “PayKaduna”, for effective tax management and revenue administration.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Uba Sani, through his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, had on 22nd of May 2024, unveiled the portal.
The portal is an innovative digital platform that is poised to revolutionalise the administration of Internally Generated Revenue (|GR) across the state.
The Executive Chairman of the service, Mr Jerry Adams, declared the official cut over to the portal on Wednesday in Kaduna.
He said that the platform was meticulously designed to make revenue collections and tax administration seamless, transparent, and accessible for all stakeholders.
Adams said that the journey began months ago with a bold step by the service to restructure its revenue administrative processes and landscape.
According to him, this is to ensure that their
approaches are more efficient and adequately serve the taxpayers.
Adams added that the restructuring effort has birthed the most reflective ‘PayKaduna portal’, which is a Kaduna-focused revenue administration portal.
“This is not just significant but clearly
underscores the visionary and paceseting credentials of this administration.
“We are proud to emphasis that the PayKaduna portal marks a significant milestone in
our journey.
”This is towards transforming revenue administration in Kaduna State towards improved compliance, simplified taxpayer experience and improved efficiency,”he said.
Recalling the executive launch of the portal, Adams quoted the governor as saying:
“I cannot over emphasise the importance of adopting the PayKaduna platform across all revenue-generating
agencies of the state.
”This is because in today’s digital age, leveraging technology to
streamline processes is not just an option.
“It is a necessity. Therefore, it is the direction of this government to make PayKaduna the central payment point for
all of the state’s ministries, departments, and agencies.”
The executive chairman said that the event marked moving from the project’s launch to its full operational deployment across all major sectors and industries of the state’s economy.
He equally said the official go-live and cut over heralded the transition from the previous revenue administration system to the new streamlined tax administration regime.
Adams emphasised that the strategic and administrative shift embodied the KADIRS’ dedication to enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in
revenue collection and tax administration.
“As we transit to this kaduna-focused system, it is therefore our target that the platform will not only streamline revenue administration but also set a new standard for efficiency, transparency, and accessibility,”he said.
Adams urged their partners to collaborate and support the service to ensure that the project delivers successfully on its cardinal objectives.(NAN)
