The Speaker, Benue House of Assembly, Hyacinth Dajoh, has promised that the assembly would continue to enact laws that would have direct positive effects on the people of the state.
Dajoh made the promise in his independence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Terver Zamber, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Makurdi.
The speaker assured that the assembly under his watch would continue to legislate for the betterment of the state, saying that every citizen deserves opportunities to thrive.
He encouraged Benue citizens not to succumb to despair despite the challenges being faced but to maintain hope in the country.
He pointed out that the government was actively implementing plans to address the prevailing challenges.
The number one Benue lawmaker expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future and urged Nigerians to focus on facts about public discourse for the growth of the nation.
Dajoh enjoined the citizens to recommit to the principles of unity, justice, and equality so as to foster a spirit of inclusivity, tolerance, and collective growth.
The speaker wished Nigerians a happy 64th Independence Day celebration. (NAN)
