The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has condemned the brutal killing of 12 Kaduna residents in an ambush in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the attack as a “barbaric act of savagery”.
The victims, reportedly en route to attend a wedding in Mangu, were ambushed and killed. Eleven others sustained various injuries during the assault.
In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Sani expressed deep outrage and called for immediate intervention by security forces to halt what he described as the “nefarious activities of non-state actors.”
“There is no justification for the attack or killing of any Nigerian citizen in any part of the country. This madness must stop. Enough is enough,” Sani said.
The governor urged his Plateau State counterpart, Caleb Mutfwang, to take charge of the situation and ensure swift and decisive action by security agencies.
“I will personally monitor the progress of investigations and ongoing field operations. We must demonstrate that impunity will no longer be tolerated in our nation,” he added.
Governor Sani extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured victims a full and speedy recovery.
