Gov Umaru Bago of Niger has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq as the new Head of Civil Service of the state.
This was contained in a statement by Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the Niger Government of Niger State (SGS), in Minna on Tuesday.
He urged the new Head of Service to discharge his responsibility within the confines of civil service rules and regulations and also bring to bear his cognate experience in his new assignment.
Bago urged civil servants in the state to support and cooperate with the new Head of Service with a view to consolidating the achievements of his predecessors.
According to the statement, civil servants in the state are enjoined to always exhibit values such as loyalty, probity, transparency and integrity in the discharge of their assigned duties.
The governor thanked the immediate past Head of Service, Abubakar Salisu, for his performances, describing his tenure as exceptional and rewarding.
He congratulated the new head of service on his appointment and wished him success and God’s guidance in the performance of the arduous duties of his new office.
Until his appointment, Sadiq was the Permanent Secretary, General Services, SSG’s Office.
He has also worked in many Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including Ministries for Water Resources, Solid Minerals, Public Service Office among others. (NAN)
