QNET, a lifestyle and wellness e-commerce company, on Wednesday said it has empowered millions of people in over 100 countries through its direct selling model.
Theodocia Quartey, Senior Legal Counsel, Sub Saharan Africa, QNET, said this during the company’s product exhibition in Lagos.
She said the company had helped people by providing opportunities for enterprise development and financial independence.
Quartey explained that the company understood the challenges associated with unemployment and the need for people to earn a living.
“So we impart knowledge and skills to people who in turn also pass what they have learnt to others to strengthen their entrepreneurial journey.
“Aside from empowering people with jobs, we have engaged in educational campaigns with several institutions.
“We currently have a running arrangement with the Federal Ministry of Employment and Labour, where we have educated some youths on how to identify fake job offers from real ones.
” Our company has a soft spot for the disadvantaged in society.
“Also through our RYTHM Foundation, which is our corporate social initiative, we have engaged in FinGreen.
“FinGreen is our financial literacy programme where young people are equipped with necessary skills to be able to make some money for themselves and become financially independent,” Quartey said.
According to her, through the programme they have had engagements with over 1,350 youths in the last two years.
Similarly, Mr Akeem Ajisafe, Chief Executive Officer of Transblue Ltd, (a partner company to QNET), said that through QNET ‘s ‘SAY NO’ Campaign, they have been able to sensitise individuals and communities on fraudulent jobs and other germane issues.
According to him, the campaign raises awareness about the dangers of fraudulent job offers used by scammers to lure victims into human trafficking in three African countries: Nigeria, Senegal, and Burkina Faso.
Ajisafe said the ongoing campaign had been crucial in highlighting the urgent need to protect youths from falling prey to unscrupulous individuals and organisations.
He said to further strengthen awareness, QNET collaborated with government agencies like the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) to reach more youths on the dangers of fake job offers and human trafficking.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the products showcased at the exhibition includes stress-relief tools like chi-pendaincludeo Light 3, water purifiers, Bio Disc 3 and nutritional supplements. (NAN)
