The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the official release of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) results for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS1) across the country’s 80 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs).
The results of the entrance examination into the prestigious Federal Government Academy (FGA) in Suleja were also released.
Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, made the announcement during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, describing the release as “a moment of fulfilment and progress for basic education in Nigeria.”
According to figures provided by the National Examinations Council (NECO), which administered the exams on 14 June, 64,578 candidates registered for the NCEE. Of these, 61,290 candidates sat the examination, while 3,288 were absent.
“Out of a maximum possible score of 210, 13 candidates achieved the highest mark of 202, while 27 candidates recorded the lowest score of one,” Prof. Ahmad stated.
She also revealed that a total of 52 candidates — two from Lagos and 50 from Rivers State — were involved in cases of examination malpractice, marking an unprecedented rise in reported incidents.
Regarding the FGA Suleja examination, the minister confirmed that 3,421 candidates registered, with 3,141 sitting the test and 280 absent. The top score was 194, while the lowest was again one.
Prof. Ahmad reiterated that the admission policy remains unchanged: 60% of slots will be allocated based on merit, 30% according to the equality of states, and 10% for exigencies.
She urged the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure that the admission process is concluded swiftly and in full compliance with government guidelines.
“Our Federal Unity Colleges have become the first choice for many parents across the country,” she said, adding that the government remains committed to improving infrastructure, teacher quality, and feeding standards in these institutions.
The Registrar of NECO, Professor Ibrahim Wushishi, officially presented the results to the minister at the event.
