The Federal Government has officially taken over the Hadejia Wetlands National Park from Jigawa Government on Sept. 10.
Dr Ibrahim Goni, the Conservator-General (C-G) of the National Park Service (NPS) disclosed this at the decoration of Assistant Conservator Generals (AC-G) and Conservator of Parks (CP) in Abuja on Friday.
“The service has officially taken over the Hadejia Wetlands National Park from Jigawa Government on Sept. 10. Deputy Conservator of Park (DCP) Jonah Moses now oversees the Park as Acting CP,” Goni said.
He noted that the management of NPS is fully concerned about the welfare of staff and has thereby placed their promotion on the front burner.
Goni further urged them to juxtapose the promotion they got with more hard work and dedication to duty for greater heights.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the three officers that were promoted to the rank of ACGs were Zanna Lawan, Abdulraham Muhammed and Gabriel Agba.
Also, the three officers that were promoted to the rank of CPs were Danjuma Magaji, Babatunde Arogunjo and Abdulaziz Adewunmi.
NAN further reports that Mohammed Abdulraham is to oversee Veterinary Services, Gabriel Agba Information and Communication Technology and Zanna Lawan to oversee Works and Maintenance in the park.
CP Mike Okea earlier, in an address of welcome commended the newly promoted officers for their hard work and dedication to duty admonishing them to do more for the service.
AC-G Abdulraham Muhammed on behalf of the newly promoted officers expressed satisfaction over the speedy approval of their promotions and commended the C-G for his mentorship. (NAN)
