Enyimba International FC of Aba’s young defensive sensation, Divine Ukadike, says the club, popularly known as the People’s Elephant, is in the Presidential Federation Cup (PFC) for the trophy and continental ticket.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Enyimba FC will on Wednesday face PFC holders, Elkanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri, in a crucial tie billed for 4p.m. at the Bwari Stadium, Abuja.
The encounter is one of the nationwide matches in the round of 32 fixtures in the ongoing PFC tournament.
Ukadike told NAN in an interview on Tuesday in Aba that Enyimba would defeat the title holders and go ahead to win the remaining match in the tournament “to lift the coveted trophy”.
He revealed that the team had put behind them their recent NPFL setback against Remo Stars in Ikene and ”are fully focused on the Federation Cup”.
The left-footed ace defender said that the PFC provided another pathway to securing continental football ticket next season.
“We are in this year’s Federation Cup for the trophy, and that is why we treat every game as a final.
“Enyimba is ready for this round of 32 encounter against Elkanemi Warriors, and we will not underestimate them.
“This competition is another route to the continent ticket and we will give it our best shot to ensure we progress.
“I believe that every player that is selected is going to give 100 per cent for the team’s victory,” Ukadike said. (NAN)
