Elizade JAC Motors says it is boosting the Nigerian economy through its local vehicle assembly plant located in Lagos.
The company’s Executive Director (Sales), Mr Roland Odukomaiya, said this on Tuesday in Abuja when he led a delegation to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on courtesy visit.
Odukomaiya, who commended the agency for its patronage in the past, said increased use of locally assembled vehicles by Nigerians would have a positive multiplier effect on the economy.
“ As you well know, our vehicles are assembled in Nigeria.
“ When NAN patronises a company that is wholly Nigerian, it will go a long way in boosting the country’s economy,” he said.
He expressed the readiness of Elizade to partner with the agency in promoting use of locally assembled vehicles in the country.
As part of the proposed partnership, he said the company will offer three-year free service and maintenance package on all vehicles purchased in addition to a five-year warranty.
“This means NAN only needs to buy the vehicle and fuel it.
“Maintenance and servicing will be on Elizade for the next three years,” he said.
The Managing Director of NAN, Ali Muhammed Ali, in his response, said that the company’s offer was an attractive incentive.
He said the increasing cost of imported vehicles was forcing many into considering alternative brands.
The commpany’s Chinese-manufactured vehicles, he said, were gaining recognition for their quality and affordability.
Ali, who underscored China’s growing influence in the global automobile market, said brands like JAC were competing with already established ones.
He commended the company’s shift in business strategy, which he said was a good bait capable of attracting Nigerian buyers.
Ali said that such move aligned with the government’s push for local industrialisation and the push for economic growth.(NAN)
