Gov Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta has congratulated Muslims in the state, Nigeria at large and the world in general on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.
The governor’s felicitation is contained in his goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Festus Ahon, on Sunday in Asaba.
He stressed the significance of Eid-el-Fitr as a time of thanksgiving, compassion, and unity among Muslims and the entire society.
Oborevwori urged adherents of Islam to sustain the virtues of love, peace, and self-discipline as exemplified during the holy month of Ramadan.
He lauded the Muslim community in Delta for their contributions to the development and peaceful coexistence in the state.
He assured them of his administration’s continued commitment to fostering religious harmony and inclusivity
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I extend our warmest wishes to Muslims in the State, Nigeria and across the world celebrating Eid-el-Fitr.
“As you mark this auspicious occasion, I urge you all to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and continue to uphold the values of patience, sacrifice, and mutual understanding.
“Our state and nation need these virtues now, more than ever,” he said.
The governor further called on Muslims and all Nigerians to pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country, stressing the need for unity in the face of economic and security challenges.
He also assured the people of the that his administration’s dedication to ensuring good governance and improving the standard of living for all residents, while wishing the Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.(NAN)
