As part of activities that heralded the World Hepatitis Day, the Edo State Government House Clinic, last Monday, offered free Hepatitis B and C tests and vaccines to Government House Staff.
The exercise was supervised by Dr. Precious Ogboru, Special Adviser on Health Matters to the Executive Governor of Edo State.
Political appointees and civil servants in their large numbers were tested and vaccinated at the Clinic. The turn-out was heartwarming and a clear indication that the stigma is gradually being erased.
The exercise was also a bold move by the Edo State Government. Edo State Government joined the global call to break the silence, the stigma, and the barriers surrounding this deadly disease.
If you missed the opportunity to get tested and vaccinated, it is not too late. Take that crucial first step. Know your status. Protect your liver. Protect your life.
Hepatitis is a silent threat. It often shows no symptoms until the liver is already severely damaged. But with early detection, it can be treated, managed, and even prevented.
A Healthy Edo is a Rising Edo.
