Mr Joe Okojie, on Monday emerged candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the August 16, 2025 National Assembly by-election for Edo Central Senatorial District.
This is contained in a statement on Monday in Benin, by Mr Chris Nehikhare, Publicity Secretary, Edo PDP caretaker committee.
According to Nehikhare, Okojie emerged winner of the PDP primary election held in Ubiaja, Esan South East Local Government Area of the state.
He said that others who contested for the ticket on the platform of the PDP include Mr John Yakubu and Friday Itulah.
He added that in a related development, Mr Johnny Aikpitanyin emerged the party’s candidate for Ovia Federal Constituency.
Aikpitanyin, who was the only aspirant for the federal constituency seat, was elected at the primary election conducted in Iguobazuwa. (NAN)
