As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Dangote Sugar Refinery (DSR), Numan, has donated a 300KV transformer to Bare community in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The General Manager, Operations of the refinery, Alhaji Bello Danmusa, disclosed this on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Pages of Hope Library, a new educational facility established by the Dr Lee Foundation to support underprivileged children in the area.
Danmusa said the donation was aimed at restoring electricity to the community after its power infrastructure was vandalized by unidentified individuals. The transformer will be installed alongside the reconnection of damaged electric lines and utility poles.
“We are dedicated to improving livelihoods, strengthening local economies, and advancing development in communities where we operate,” he stated.
He expressed confidence that restoring electricity would enhance educational outcomes, particularly for learners using the newly commissioned library.
Danmusa noted that the refinery operates within the southern senatorial zone of Adamawa, spanning five local government areas, and has consistently implemented projects focused on infrastructure, education, and social welfare as part of its CSR mandate.
