A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a 50-year-old man, Ibrahim Jubril, in Awarjigoh correctional facility for stealing ”fowls” worth N900,000.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A Afolabi, gave the order after Jubril pleaded guilty to stealing the chickens belonging to Mrs Dorcas Kusimo, the complainant.
Afolabi adjourned the case until Feb.10 for sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, DSP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan.21, at Kusimo Way, Age-Mowo, Badagry area of Lagos.
Okuiomose said that the defendant also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by causing pandemonium.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 168 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
