An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded a 38-year-old man, Kehinde Ogunleye, in a correctional centre for allegedly assaulting his neighbour.
Ogunleye, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a count charge bordering on assault, to which he pleaded guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, said that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 5 at about 9 a.m. at No. 20, Odofin Street, Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
Famuyiwa said that the defendant unlawfully assaulted one Mr Taofeek Rasheed by using broken bottle to inflict injury on his shoulder.
According to him, the offence contravenes Section 170 and punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The Magistrate, A.O. Ogbe, remanded the defendant in Kirikiri correctional centre and adjourned the matter till Jan. 16 for facts and sentencing. (NAN)
