Alhaji Sha’aya Sarkinpawa, the Coordinator, Zamfara West Senatorial District Constituency Office has commended the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, over conferment of the traditional title of ‘Marafan Sokoto’ on Sen. Abdul’aziz Yarı.
In a statement issued in Gusau on Monday, Sarkinpawa described Yari’s traditional title given by the Sultanate Council as commendable.
He stated that Yari as a philanthropist and notable politician who deserved the traditional title considering his legacies as a former Governor of the state.
Sarkinpawa said that the former governor played a great role in the democratic journey of Zamfara and Nigeria, especially in extending the dividends of democracy to the common man.
“As a former governor of Zamfara and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), he recorded great achievements in transforming the state.
“On behalf of the APC members, the entire people of Zamfara West constituency and the good people of Zamfara, we appreciate the Sultanate Council over conferment of Marafan Sokoto on our leader, Sen Yari,” he explained. (NAN)
