Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun on Tuesday, refused to comment on the possibility of sending a Chinese peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire.
He added that the ministry did not answer hypothetical questions.
On Monday, The Economist reported that U.S. officials were suggesting that foreign forces, including from non-European countries such as China and Brazil, be sent to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire.
“We do not comment on hypothetical issues.
“China has consistently maintained an impartial position on the Ukrainian crisis, which it has voiced many times,’’ Guo told reporters. (RIA/NAN)
