The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has firmly disowned an online notice claiming that it hosted the top management of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) to discuss service delivery and recruitment issues.
The board, in a strongly worded statement signed by its secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, urged a halt to further fraudulent posts. It denounced the notice, which falsely claimed to originate from the Minister’s office, as the work of unscrupulous individuals, recruitment syndicates, and racketeers intent on damaging the board’s reputation.
The secretary warned Nigerians, especially desperate job seekers, that the Minister of Interior and chairman of the Board did not preside over such a meeting. He clarified that the press release is fake and did not originate from the board.
The statement partly reads: “The attention of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has been drawn to a fraudulent online press release claiming that the Board hosted Federal Fire Service executives to discuss service delivery and the ongoing recruitment process.
The fake press release alleged that ‘the meeting was presided over by the executive chairman of the CDCFIB, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, along with the secretary to the Board, Alh. Ja’afaru Ahmed, the permanent secretary of Interior, the chief registrar, and members of the service administration, board secretariat, among others.'” it stated.
