A Social Analyst and Public Relations Practitioner, Mr Deyemi Saka, says the Minister of State for Defence and a former Governor of Zamfara, Bello Matawalle, deserves applause for military operations rather than accusations.
Saka spoke while fielding questions on insecurity in the North West on TVC programme on Monday.
According to him, Matawalle should be commended for spearheading the military operations that got 14 out of the 18 bandits terrorising the North West neutralised within a very short time.
“Gov. Dauda Lawal’s accusations that his predecessor and Minister of Defence, State, Muhammad Matawalle, as being behind the insecurity in Zamfara state is baseless,” Saka said.
According to him, in spite the fact that Matawalle is neither a brigade commander nor commanding a troop, he has leveraged on the instructions of President Bola Tinubu, who gave him a marching order to decapitate the bandits.
Saka urged Gen. Aliyu Gusau (Rtd), a former National Security Adviser, and elder stateman from Zamfara to wade into the crisis between Lawal and his predecessor, Matawalle.
He urged Gusau to caution Lawal in the interest of peace and to engender security and well-being of the people. (NAN)
