Arsenal have “made contact” with Eberechi Eze’s representatives about a possible move from Crystal Palace to Emirate Stadium this summer. This is according to European transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It is believed that Eze has a release clause of $93 million that can be paid in installments, which is a very good price for a 27-year-old England international who has proven himself as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League outside of the ‘big six’ clubs.
“Arsenal have made contact with Eberechi Eze’s camp over the weekend,” Romano wrote on X.
“Contacts are taking place for Crystal Palace star with #AFC informed on deal conditions.
“Tottenham remain also keen on Eze.”
Eze has attracted interest from plenty of other clubs this summer, including Spurs, and this now feels like the right time for him to make the step up to a Champions League club.
The 2024/2025 FA Cup hero would be perfect to start on the left wing for Arsenal and cut inside and cause problems.
That is something that have been sorted on the right with Bukayo Saka but both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have struggled to deliver consistently.
He surely won’t have that problem and Arsenal have shown they don’t mind spending big on an established, proven Premier League star.
Eze was the hero for Palace as his first half goal earned them a 1-0 win against favourites Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup final.
It was Palace’s first-ever trophy since they were founded in 1861.
