Ahead of the National Executive Council (NEC) and caucus meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to be held this week, the North Central Forum (NFC) has said the party should come out of the meeting stronger, adding that the concerns and yearnings of stakeholders must be addressed.
Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, who stated this yesterday in Jos the Plateau State capital while speaking to newsmen, also declared the group’s support for President Bola Tinubu as well as the party.
He said the national chairmanship position which the North Central region should produce, according to the party zoning arrangement, is among the key things to be addressed at the meeting.
Zazzaga, a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the last election, reiterated that it is important for the party to come out stronger than it was from the meeting, and should endeavour to address the concerns and yearnings of stakeholders of the party.
According to him, the North Central region played a key role in ensuring victory for APC in the 2015 and 2023 elections.
He said the zone will not spare any effort to pursue their cause and do things that will generally uplift the zone, just as he declared that members in the zone are still loyal to APC.
He commended the North Central governors, legislators and other party bigwigs, who have remained committed to the cause of the region regarding the national chairmanship position of the party. He said they will not be deterred by anything or any betrayer from the cause.
“Beside the strong contribution of the North Central to the development and sustenance of the APC over the years, as well as the tremendous support we gave to the emergence of President Bola Tinubu, the region has also delivered five governors for the APC out of the six states in the North Central region.

Meanwhile he called for understanding on the futuristic economic policies of president Tinubu, saying that even though it is momentarily painful, it will turn out to be the best thing that ever happened in the history of Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to be a little bit more patient, adding that the situation is a passing phase and a trying moment. He however said all hands must be on deck to salvage the country from its present political and economic situation.
“To make the matter worse some enemies of this administration are already using this to instigate the people against the government. But if we must connect this to how some Western countries today developed we can see that some of the economic policies then appeared to be harsh but at the long run it paid off and today they have been celebrated as leading economic champions,” he said.
Again, Zazzaga commended President Bola Tinubu for his steadfastness in moving the nation and the party forward, and steering it on the right path.
