A Diaspora APC Chieftain, Mr Ayoola Lawal has congratulated Mr Temitope Adewale on his emergence as the new Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
In his congratulatory message on Sunday in Lagos, Lawal, the immediate past chairman of APC in the Scandinavian countries, said that Adewale’s appointment underscored his consistent alignment with the values and ideas of the party.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the new assembly first female Speaker, Mojisola Meranda at plenary on Friday, appointed Adewale (Ifako-Ijaiye 1), as the new Majority Leader, following the impeachment of the former speaker, Mudashiru Obasa on Monday.
Lawal said that Adewale’s appointment underscored his dedication, steadfast service, and impactful leadership within the assembly and his constituency.
He expressed confidence that the majority leader would use this new position to further champion legislative excellence, foster collaboration among his colleagues, and deliver transformative policies for the benefit of his constituents.
Lawal said: “His new appointment also reflects the trust and confidence placed in him by his colleagues to steer the legislative agenda in a progressive and people-centered direction.
“Politics is what it is; however, Adewale is living up to my personal expectations by delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.
“I sincerely pray that he uses this elevated position as an opportunity to further step up his services to our constituency and Lagos state as a whole.”
Lawal said the appointment also served as a rallying call for leaders, especially in the diaspora, to support and celebrate progressive accomplishments that elevated the APC’s vision and Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
He prayed that the lawmaker’s tenure would be marked by impactful initiatives, exemplary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to inspiring positive change. (NAN)
