In an electrifying display of skill and determination, Nigeria’s Wasi Adeshina is preparing for a crucial matchup at the second Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa event, which is set to take place on Saturday, August 9, at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The highly anticipated event will showcase some of Africa’s most talented mixed martial artists as they compete for the prestigious title of PFL Africa Champion.
Adeshina, who holds a professional record of 7-3, will step into the SmartCage to face the formidable Jean Jacques Lubaya from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who boasts an impressive record of 9-1. This Featherweight clash is expected to be a marquee event of the evening, with both fighters looking to make a significant impact in this fiercely competitive division.
Additionally, the event will feature an exciting Welterweight bout, as Boloyang from the Democratic Republic of Congo (3-1) takes on Cameroon’s undefeated fighter, Octave Ayinda (5-0). Another thrilling matchup will see Burkina Faso’s Sanon Sadeck (7-2) face Guinea-Bissau’s Yabna N’tchala (11-2-1).
The highlight of the night will be a major Featherweight First Round bout featuring Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme (6-1) against Guinea’s Mohamed Camara (5-2-1). This battle promises to be a high-stakes contest between two of West Africa’s premier fighters.
As anticipation builds for the event, fans and supporters are encouraged to secure their tickets, which are available through TicketPro. The PFL Africa series signifies a major milestone for the continent’s mixed martial arts scene, featuring 32 fighters from 15 nations competing across various divisions. This exciting journey will culminate in the crowning of the first-ever PFL Africa Champions in 2025, marking a new era for African MMA.
As the PFL Africa series unfolds, all eyes will undoubtedly be on Nigeria’s representatives, with hopes high that they will secure the coveted title and showcase the exceptional talent of African fighters on the world stage.
