Oba Frederick Balogun, the Olu Apata of Apata in Oworo District of Lokoja, Kogi, on Monday, described Gov. Ahmed Ododo’s achievements within one year in office as laudable and encouraging.
The Oba further described the governor as God sent and pride of Kogi people, given his tremendous performance in one year in office.
The traditional ruler made the assertion in a statement in Lokoja in felicitation with the governor in celebration of his one year anniversary.
Balogun said that Ododo’s administration had, in the last one year, positively touched the lives of residents of the state in diverse ways.
He noted that Ododo’s leadership style has ushered in a new era for Kogi, particularly, the areas of significant advancements in the welfare of civil servants, road infrastructure, healthcare services, education and humanitarian service.
“Ododo’s one year in office as the chief servant of the state has witnessed breathtaking developmental strides to the delight of the people of Kogi.
“Workers in both the state and local government levels are enjoying N72,500 minimum wage with pensioners smiling to banks.
“We have noticed a boost in the agricultural sector via food production and security in the state in 2024,” he said.
The traditional ruler prayed for more of God’s grace, wisdom and understanding on the governor to continue with his developmental strides to put Kogi among well developed states in Nigeria.
